User FAQs
There are three ways to find your mentor, all under Find a Mentor in the menu: let our AI matching suggest mentors for you; browse the Mentors section, where you can filter by industry, location, interests, and more to find someone with availability; or request suggestions from our team and we'll send you hand-picked matches.
Go to the mentor's profile, click Book a Session, and pick a time that's convenient for you — mentors have already added their availability. You'll be notified as soon as they respond so you can confirm your session. Mentors have 24–72 hours to confirm, depending on how soon your session is; if they don't, the request is automatically declined and you can book with another mentor. We recommend trying at least three mentors to find the right fit for you.
Yes — we encourage it! Having several mentors gives you more context to find the right match, and different goals call for different perspectives. Many of our members build their own personal advisory board on Upnotch.
Yes. When you join, you'll choose to start as either a mentor or a mentee — and you can add the other role anytime. If you joined as a mentee, just tap Become a Mentor in the menu. And every mentor can also be a mentee, so even if you onboarded as a mentor, you can search for a mentor of your own.
If you have knowledge or expertise you'd like to share and can dedicate one hour per month to helping others solve challenges, you're ready. Go to Menu > Become a Mentor, select the goals and topics you're passionate about, and set your availability.
